The Organization
Hunter Douglas is the leading U.S. manufacturer of alternate window coverings, such as horizontal blinds, vertical blinds, cellular shades and many high-end patented products like Silhouette®, Luminette® and Duette®. Products are sold through thousands of retailers around the U.S., and especially through a more elite network of independently-owned retailers who have allied themselves with the company, and receive exclusive products, promotions and programs.

The Challenge
Because of the allied dealers' greater commitment to Hunter Douglas, there's a greater need for the company to communicate with them on an ongoing basis about promotions, new products and company news. The company needed a way to generate lists of allied dealers sorted by various criteria to use for both email and fax blasts - and a tool for sending those mass emails. Hunter Douglas also wanted a way to track store sales and generate customized sales reporting.

The Solution
Zyphon Media created a set of customized email tools for Hunter Douglas that specific company users can access to select subsets of dealers by various criteria and send email or fax blasts. In addition, users can select groups of dealers and create an MS Excel spreadsheet file to export to other applications for various uses.

Customized reporting tools were also created to provide on-demand sales reporting to specific users who have passwords to view such areas.

Benefits and Results
Hunter Douglas now has better control of its outbound communication to allied dealers and the ability to keep in contact with specific subsets of allied dealers about important business information. The company can communicate at a lower cost than previously because email and fax are used instead of U.S. Mail and express delivery.

Sales reporting allows for greater visibility of the past, resulting in better future planning and more accurate forward thinking.
